First Meeting
On June 15, 1903, the Certificate of Incorporation for Bear Valley Mutual Water Company was issued by the Secretary of State of the State of California. The first meeting of the Bear Valley Mutual Water Company was held on June 26, 1903.
At that meeting, H. H. Garstin was elected President, F. P. Morrison was elected Vice President, and F. Hotchkiss was elected Secretary. The newly elected officers
authorized the printing of 500 copies of the Articles of Incorporation and By-laws.
First Annual Meeting
The first annual meeting of the Bear Valley Mutual Water Company was held on November 18, 1903 at which time the secretary reported that 70,559 shares had been subscribed by users of the “Bear Valley System”. This meeting saw 12 nominees for the eleven-man directorship. This was the only time in Bear Valley Mutual Water Company’s 100+ year history that more than eleven individuals have been nominated to the Board of Directors.
