Stockholder Information

Stockholder

Welcome

Now that you own water stock, you may have some questions as to what it may entitle you to. Firstly, most people think that shares in this company gives you a water right. However, the water rights are held by the company itself and each stockholder receives an entitlement of water from that right based upon the shares that they own.

To determine your monthly entitlement, you will take the number of shares own, and multiply it by the delivery rate, which is set by the board annually.

For more information on the rate, please contact the office, or your company Zanjero. If your water is delivered through the City of Redlands system, you may contact them to find out more about your monthly entitlement.

Also, our shares are not appurtenant to the land. The shares are a separate property and owned by you apart from your real estate. Your shares can be used anywhere within the company service area.

In some cases you may be able to rent shares to supplement your needs. This does not apply to water delivered by the City of Redlands. For more information on renting stock, contact the company office.

What Does Irrigation Water Cost?

As a not-for-profit corporation serving stockholders only, we are committed to serving our farming community and strive to keep citrus alive in this area. You will not find less expensive water in the City of Redlands.

Annually, our Board of Directors will levy an assessment and the monthly water usage charges based on availability and weather conditions.

Because we are not a public utility we do not have massive overhead to contribute to the cost. However, maintaining a water system that is over 100 years old in some areas is a constant and ongoing process. The assessment and water billing income sustains the overall operation of the company.

One thing that helps to keep our cost reasonable is the realization by each stockholder that water is a precious commodity and that they take personal accountability for their usage. We encourage everyone to use water wisely.
